Israeli actress Gal Gadot concluded her visit to “Jimmy Kimmel Live” on Thursday night by blowing a shofar with the late night talk show host in honor of the upcoming Jewish holiday Rosh Hashanah.

The star of “The Runner” brought to the show shofars for her and Kimmel to blow together on national television before the Jewish New Year begins on Friday night. Gadot blew first, with a shofar she said she borrowed from her rabbi, before Kimmel tried blowing a much larger ram’s horn. The two then blew their shofars together.

“The idea is really nice because it’s for everybody and the mitzvah, the good deed, is to hear the shofar and it’s basically supposed to awaken the soul for a good year for everybody,” Gadot explained to the studio audience. She also talked with Kimmel about what is traditionally eaten on Rosh Hashanah, including apples dipped in honey. The “Wonder Woman” star additionally admitted that she loves eating gefilte fish but primarily because of the horseradish that is served with it.
