Israeli basketball player Gal Raviv, a point guard for the University of Miami women’s basketball team, has set all-time records at the FIBA U20 Women’s EuroBasket 2026 after a show-stopping run in the tournament, which concluded on Sunday in Lithuania.
The 19-year-old from Netanya averaged 28.1 points per game and posted an efficiency rating of 30.1 over the seven-game event, the highest marks in the competition’s history in both categories. She poured in a tournament single-game best of 37 points in an 80-79 quarterfinal win over Poland and added 6.6 assists per game as she led Israel to its first-ever final, where the team fell to France 79-66 on Sunday.
Raviv was named to the tournament’s All-Star Five alongside France’s Sarah Cisse — the tournament’s Most Valuable Player — and Ines Pitarch-Granel, Spain’s Ines Soleto, and Lithuania’s Daniele Paunksnyte.
Raviv joined the Miami Hurricanes in April 2025 as a transfer, and head coach Tricia Cullop praised the guard at the time as a player who can “score at all three levels.” She has three years of eligibility remaining with the program.
Before arriving at Miami, Raviv played a single season for Quinnipiac University, where she became the first player in Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) history to be named both the conference’s Rookie of the Year and Player of the Year in the same season, in 2025. She also earned All-MAAC First Team and All-MAAC Rookie Team honors, and was named the 2025 Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Rookie of the Year with All-ECAC First Team recognition.
Raviv has extensive experience representing Israel internationally, including at the FIBA Under-19 Women’s World Cup and the Under-18 Women’s EuroBasket in Porto, Portugal, where she was the fourth-leading scorer in the field and led Israel with 17.3 points and 4.7 assists per game. In 2021, she was named Israel’s Breakthrough Player of the Year. She attended Bella Vista College Prep in Arizona.
